I'm not dealing with Canon service again unless I absolutely must. When my G7X lens failed I just took it back to the retailer and demanded an exchange - both times.

That wasn't happening so I just cut my losses and stuffed the S95 in a drawer. Canon wanted me to ship the camera back at my cost, but that wasn't all: They wanted me to pay for the cost to repair/replace the lens they just replaced. I called Canon immediately and informed them of the issue. When it arrived I tested it out and although the dirt was gone, all of my photos were now out of focus. I paid Canon nearly $200 to replace the lens assembly and received the camera back about 2 months after I had initially sent it. About a year outside the warranty dirt somehow became lodged inside the lens. Canon fixed it both times and had my camera for a total of ~4 months between the two instances. My S95 had two lens failures within the first year of ownership. I am forever bitter about Canon's warranty service. What was your experience with Canon repair services? I just started encountering this issue and have less than a month remaining on the 1 year warranty.
